Why arborist mulch works
Arborist chip is a mix of wood, bark and leaf. That mix breaks down slowly, feeds soil life and keeps moisture in through Melbourne's dry summers far better than bare soil. A 75 to 100 mm layer also smothers most weed seedlings.
Using mulch from your own trees
If we are removing or pruning trees at your place, the cheapest mulch you will ever get is your own. Choose the mulch-on-site option in your quote and we will spread it where you want it instead of hauling it away, which usually lowers the price of the job.
Spreading it properly
We keep mulch clear of tree trunks and house walls, where it can hold moisture against bark or give termites a bridge into the building. Beds are weeded first if needed, then mulched to an even depth.
